EDIT: Can someone explain to me why any civilian would want to have an AK-47 or other assault rifle in possession and how NOT having one would be worse for them and society overall. 95% of the guns we are being killed with (drug cartels) come from our country, because in Mexico it's much harder to get them. Wouldn't it be better without AK47s and if you disagree, what is the need for one?

LOL another liberal. Why does anyone want a TV?, oh yeah, because WE WANT ONE! It's the same principal with assault rifles, or any firearm, 99% of legal gun owners have never committed a crime using a gun. There is always bad apples. As for the Mexican drug cartels they get their weapons illegally meaning they buy it from someone who stole it or something along those lines. You have obviously never purchased ANY gun, because when buying a firearm you have to fill out forms, and then have your name searched so they can bring up your criminal records, etc. Bottom line is it is "easy" for law abiding citizens to purchase firearms, and even if Obama or any Administration bans firearms and ammunition, criminals will still have firearms since they get them illegally without the Federal Government knowing.

P.S. Don't bring up Columbine, just because some evil kids shot and killed 12 people doesn't mean they should ban guns. That is equivalent to saying,"well cars kills people every year", "so lets ban cars or make it harder to purchase them".
