Topics marking themselves as read

In the past week I've noticed that random topics that I haven't even read yet automatically are marked as read, even thought they've been recently created and I haven't read them yet, any ideas what's causing this?

I never see recent topics get marked as read / How "recent" are you talking about?

Sometimes if i come on and then shut my browser when i come back they are marked as read. Try leaving your browser up if you still have stuff to look at....

m3, for example I posted this topic and this morning came here and I see it's marked as read - it doesn't show there's new posts (even thought there are), even thought when I last checked the topic was 1 minute after I posted and I never saw the newest posts here.

Aesop, well I can't just leave my PC online 24/7, it marks sections read even thought I've not visited them in previous session while my PC was on (call it whatever you want, but I call it session ).

If you leave the topic open and it gets the "Live topic" thingy it might get marked as read (not 100% sure about that but I think that happens).

I didn't even had this topic open. The replies were posted when my PC was off.
