Hi, i cant became host. I tried the Host Tool and the Host GUI, but the other players never connect to me. I tried everything, but it didn`t work.

PS: My Nat is open

bad ping , aiw is a really far servr, so , high ping = no host.

I don't think, my ping is too high. Something about 60-150 should Be enough, right (not As host)?

My ping is around 42-45 according to SpeedTest.Net and I also have trouble hosting games. Usually take close to 8 minutes to find people.

Huh, my ping on a speedtest is much lower than in alterIW.
But is this really important? Coulden't Be there an other problem? And will i find players when i wait enough?

You will find people eventually but most people who join your lobby will not wait around for other people.

If you're going to correct someone at least do it correctly, it could be "Why can't I become a host?" or rephrased in many different ways. Not "why ia cant become a host."

OT:

I'm having the same problem and most people are saying that having a high ping on MW2 is the problem. What we need in order to officially label this top as "Solved" is a method, if there is one, of lowering ping or increasing the time it takes to find players to join your lobby.

ok heres the deal, u became host using the host tool right?
now that you are host, people can either join you by just searching or by the serverlist.

if people are searching they will always get connected to the one that is closest to them in real life. this is because the closer the person/host is to you, the lower ping you get. hence the matchmaking server would connect a person to a server close to them.
now as you dont get host normally by the matching making server, it suggests that your internet is not very good. hence the matchmaking server does not connect most people to you because it has better options. hence you will have to wait quite a long time for people to join you.

another way people can join you is using the server list. most people just look for a country that is close to thiers and join that one. which could mean that either your country is not well known, or that people in your country dont play this game much, or that they are not playing at the time you are playing etc etc

also maybe the mode you are hosting in, eg snd.. most people dont search in snd most go to tdm so it will take quite a while to get people to join.
