I thought it was interesting... I just learned that today. Something to do with the brain automatically recognizing what order the words SHOULD be in, and before the word actually goes from your eyes to your brain, it deciphers it like a puzzle for you. But the first and last letter of the word have to be the same as if it was spelled properly, everything in the middle can be jumbled.
