When you make a model, you have do something called UV mapping. You might want to look that up.
I make my own models, and if you use decent software, the textures can be there. If you are referring to ModelEdit the program, you can load textures into it and see how they fit on the models.
Dreamer is right. When you make a model, no textures are there. So when you make a model SOMEONE has to make a texture. Or it'll just be a white piece of shit in your hands.
Then you clearly don't understand what I'm saying. Let me give you an example, using a rubiks cube.
Alright, the rubiks cube is square right? And it comes with 6 colors, Blue, Orange, Red, Green, Yellow, White. Now, take it apart. Add in a new side, and then it would be pentagonal right? Here's the problem, you want it to look pentagonal, with each side with equal, and with the right color. If you don't do it correctly, you'll end up making the rubiks cube look odd.
If you look, only one of those is a pentagon, so pretend all those other shapes are unwanted. Do I have to explain further?
