It'd be nice if we could have some civilised discussions like humans here.
As in without raging, without trolls everywhere, and without newphag speak.

    What made you start graphics?
as we get more on the topic, it would be nice if you could elaborate.

I'm slightly annoyed by the amount of non-relevant topics posted here.

I wanted a signature and asked Gourav and he said he would make me one, but I had to post it in the request section so he would remember to do it. Anyways that brought me to this section and then I started getting interested in graphics and started working in GIMP and then got help getting Cs3.

Well, Originally, everyone else started to do it so I joined in too. Then it became a way of spending time; expressing myself, keeping myself busy etc.

my aunt worked for adobe, brought home a free copy of photoshop (i was young at the time, so i didn't know what it was)

then my other aunt signed me and my cousin up for a basics class for it at a college.
Just taught like some basic basic stuff, like what the main tools are, and how to use them
    (no pentooling though)

So, with a basic understanding of ps, i didn't actually do much, until i stumbled across forums, and i saw people's signatures, and i wanted to make them. so i asked them how they did it, and they pointed me to some tutorials, and i went from there.

    Quit. Restarted 2009 summer.

Then, i had found a gfx forum, and learned there. Had some friends who were better who could help me out, and i just built up from there. Joined a few teams who showed me some new stuff too.

Learning isn't always just how you create yourself, but working with other people does make it easier.

I wanted to make one cuz I saw some that looked really cool. *cough* Now I think it's not so cool anymore... considering the pro stuff I've been seeing...
    Shitfuck.

I started up with Ps because I was on a computer a lot with school and work,
and basically didn't have the time to paint anymore
art was kind of escaping from me, and I needed something to fill the void.
Started doing stuff at another hack site, moved onto some minor gfx related sites,
ended up back here. That's about it.

Coz I wanted to have the most badass sig in this forum. I then realised i was shit, so i ripped everyones work .

Nawwwws, I wanted to be a concept/level designer since I was in yr 9, and signatures seemed to be a good starting point for gfx work. Now it's mostly just a hobby until I have a decent job, then I might do something with it.

    cool stories, bros.
why'd you start on art on the internet against drawing or painting/watercolor, just other more well known mediums of art?

Well, I used to draw a lot, had a whole scrapbook filled with art, but then it got burnt in a house fire, so I gave up for a while.

    I actually didn't.

Started drawing marvel chars when I was real young, like 9.
Did paintings later. Never watercolor though, oil and acrylic.

    Ps and Illy came later

I did a lot of doodles as a little kid of weapons, places, people, etc. This could range from Pokemon stuff, DBZ, technology, magic, all the way to my versions of cities.
Then I stopped because I "grew up" and had middle school to deal with where I had to actually think about learning.
Then 2 years ago, I joined MPGH for hacks because I liked CA.
Then I wanted a "cool" sig.
Started making them, learned, saw that there was more to art than just "sigs", and I've been more or less enthralled with everything I've found since.
