Windows 7 looks like XP?

So i installed windows 7 n stuff. I had to reinstall it because i didn't activate it... So i did so. Dragged what i needed from my windows.old folder after activation and installation and deleted it. The next day (today) i turn my computer on, get to my desktop and my taskbar, start menu and explorers look like xp. my backround still looks the same, chrome works the same, but everything else looks like xp. I went to personalization in the control panel and it won't let me change the way the windows look. I go to the themes and they're shaded grey (or gray, however it's spelled). What should i do?

Edit: I tried downloading a theme, did so, and clicked it to open it and it said "This theme can't be applied to the desktop. Try clicking a different theme." Can ANYONE help?!

Windows 7 does not and will never look like XP.

I was thinkin to do that. I knew i had to but i hate having to drag all my samples and beats and programs and stuff from windows.old... But i'm gonna keep looking for solutions. If nothing works, i'm gonna reinstall... For the record as well, the audio service isn't working either.

Googled it and found something.

I fixed it. Taskbar was in windows classic and so was explorer. It was just weird. I was told to go to AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes and check the .ini file and see if there was anything in there, there wasn't, so i just deleted it. Restarted, back to norm.
