Avatar problem?

I just can't manage to get an animated avatar. Everytime I upload it it becomes static. And if I upload a .png pic with a transparent background, the background becomes white? Ehhh, some help?

I use gimp and it gives you an option to save as animation or save as image

Yea, but were talking about getting them and saveing them as pics and then when you upload they just become static. It's wired.
Never use to do that before.

No. I'm talking about uploading an animation but when it becomes my avatar it's static. And if I upload a .png pic with transparent parts, the transparent parts or half transparent become plain white.
