Also, socialism is only a transitory point between capitalism and communism. The issue here is that while examples of how well socialism works are everywhere. Every country that has moved itself into the communist stage has failed at being successful because during the socialist stage while all the money and wealth is begin centralized someone decides to take over all the wealth instead of redistributing it to everyone. Plus the issue with communism is that jobs that hold a lot of prestige and power such as being a lawyer or a doctor would end up receiving the same amount of compensation as any other menial job under the communist system resulting in under qualified and unsatisfied workers. It would turn those jobs into careers rather than professions.

You assume wrongly. I am well aware of the fact that the majority of voters are people at or above "middle age". That is why these things will never happen. Everyone in Washington is too afraid to make the unpopular decision. I was merely citing that it is very possible to get out of this deficit entirely by 2015, something we've never accomplished as a country since 1835, when Andrew Jackson was President. However, to do so, someone has to make the unpopular decisions that may need to be made. Also, I did not say anything about Medicaid. And, I agree with you about this country being hypocrites. However, instead of blaming one another and arguing, follow what Obama has said, and win the future, together. If that means to drop things that some may not like, including myself, to help our country out as a whole, then let us stop being selfish and work together to do just that.

Selfishness is the basis of the entire capitalistic system, if there is one thing we can rely on it's that people are selfish. Deficits are not good, but a manageable debt arguably is. The problem with getting rid of the deficit is that we are spending more than we are making, and on top of interest on debts we have with other countries, it's hard to climb out of a hole that we have dug ourselves so far into. Most likely, President Obama doesn't want to have to work with the republicans to get the job done, but since the democrats no longer have house majority, he has to concede some ground to them since he can't get what he wants done without pleasing the GOP and the democrats. However, doubling our exports by 2014 is a very lofty goal.

But What you, and Obama don't seem to get, is that if your going to keep healthcare 'organizations' from not paying up, or not accepting people because of pre-existing conditions, you are going to have to pass something to keep them from raising their rates because of these new limitations.

WTF are you talking about, one of the biggest point in the bill was that healthcare insurance providers cannot deny/remove your coverage due to pre-existing conditions. So that statement makes no sense. Also the bill puts a cap on rates, they cannot raise them on you without approval, and they are working on regulating the wording used in contracts and information. Many huge insurance companies did w.e they could before the bill kicked in during January 1st 2011. My only regret is that the public option was completely removed, but I do understand that due to the trillions in deficit, we cannot afford such a measure.

Although the Obamacare bill didn't exactly come up at the best time for our down economy, killing the bill is cutting the wrong kind of government spending when we have unnecessary overspending in many other government funded programs and departments.

That wasn't his focus in this. He wanted to use this speech to try to rally people together, get motivated, and inspire them. This speech was about moving forward as a nation, not looking back at a gruesome event. Save that for the news to report as bills hit legislation.

I couldn't agree more, his focus was on the economy and banding together as a nation. He'll address gun control another time.
