this is probably the best program for secrecy ever made, it is used/made by the US Navy, i'm not sure of the origin but it will keep what/when/why/where you send over the internet secret using tunneling and an onion router ... go to tor.eff.org read the stuff, get all the packages and stuff, read how to use, all that great stuff, i can go on ANY site, anywhere with wifi now. i think it is the greatest thing for online secrecy and so on and so forth.

wouldn't it be possible for one of these volunteers to catch the data they're relaying???
And if that is possible... Next question would be how, and how do I take part of it?

Here, let me go more in depth on the project. It's something I use whenever I'm doing things like Torrenting or being a pro Anon. (inb4 1/2). Basically it pings you all over the globe, and puts you behind someone else's IP. Sometimes I go to facebook and it's all in Russian, German, Spanish, etc. It's a progam called Vidalia (Spelling wrong probably) that will encrypt your data. The Tor button that comes WITH vidalia is something that you can use on Firefox only. It is an addon that will allow you to use Tor in browser. It's really a nice program. Anybody that is doing something they shouldn't be (COUGH COUGH THIS IS A GENERAL HACKING SUBFORUM) that can now be pretty much hidden, but don't think of it as a 100% full-proof, because it isn't.

So quite like a VPN with multiple locations ++ encryption then?
I won't pretend like I'm an expert, but as far as my knowledge go, this should be exploitable if you could solve the encryption and pick up the data being sent through you.. Unless it's more like the only data sent through you (if you are a volunteer) is IP-address and other data with which you are recognizable... or... Nah I probably don't have the knowledge for even understanding how it works x)
But if it IS a VPN (or works like one) I'll use it at school to go through the pages they have blocked

Use a normal proxy for that, TOR is an overkill.
