a way to combine ethernet cords?

Is there a way to comnbine 2 ethernet cords? I have the 360 that uses wifi but I don't have a wireless router. I HAD a long ass ethernet cord that would work perfectly but I lost it. I have 2 ethernet cords that would be able to reach my xbox if they were combined. Is there a way that you can tape them together with electrical tape with the wires or something else that doesn't require a sautering gun or however you spell it..? Or are there other solutions to my dilemma? FYI, I don't have enough money to get a wireless router.

cut the cable from each end of the 2 cords
combine all the wires inside the wrapping
it should work, but there might be a little interfering.

Jailbroken, can you post a link of a youtube vid showing me? I'm on my phone, and it moves slowly. I do better with vids than text.

It doesn't show you how to do it -_- it's not as simple as taping up cords and melting the tape. Besides, I don't have a sautering gun. This is a serous request. And btw, I watched that whole series until season 6 I think.

When you have a cat-5 cable you'll see that there are multiple wires within it, all color coded, so just color match. I made my own cat-5 cable for my IT class in high school.

    Its called a Soldiering Iron.
And just take the clip off at 1 end of each cable and color match the wires
    Twist around together and done.

Only if it was that easy.
