I suck @ them..
Basically all I've ever done is start them,
and they always get ownt because I don't know how far to bring them,
or really know what the other person wants to do with them..
so'z no mas collabs.

That's because you've been doing them the stupid way.
Starter does them up to a point that's not necessarily even half-way, but a setup for the finisher to do something with.
Finisher either finishes based on the boundaries set by the starter, or changes it completely.
Post thread.
No communication in between.
It's very limiting and completely takes the personal feel away from art. This is why I don't do collabs very often, but the ones I am doing, I'm doing with Kyle or Evelyn, and we're TALKING about things to make and steps to take.
Kyle and I have spent AT LEAST an hour or two looking at elements of /3 work to try out.
Not to mention going back and forth a number of times with the .psd, and changing things NOT because the other doesn't like it, but because we both have a common goal, and a level of knowledge to reach it.
That's a collaboration.
The classic "you start, I finish" routine is rather amateur to be frank.
Unfortunately I have to post this on mobile because my mobo was raped, so I can't really speak for my activity with collabs, or MPGH for that matter.
Also taking into account that Kyle's GONE, for fuck's sake...
But I digress.
That's my opinion.
I've realized that in art, especially art forums, there's a large gap between the big guys and the little guys, with few in between.
But whether or not you're in one of those groups isn't based solely on skill, if you catch my drift (in spite of the ranking system, which I think is somewhat flawed in it's over-usage and sense of self-grandeur it gives to a few).
I'll be straight, you should have joined the big boy group a while ago.
Takes two to tango.
You can't collab with someone who's not with the big guys and expect communication to be effective.
Big guys:
- Enjoy art, not make it stressful and dramatic
- Communicate
- Get better because they enjoy it
- Work when they have inspiration and a fantastic idea
- Build their style with elements and original ideas, not copies
Little guys:
- Enjoy art in a way that they've created for themselves, not one that it should be enjoyed
- Slam each other for fun, and not for fun
- Get better to hit the next class/rank
- Work because they feel like they need to get something done, to accomplish something
- Copy styles
That's really a synopsis of it, but all in all, it's my opinion.
However, I've given it quite a bit of thought.
*Shrugs*
Don't really care about groups.
If you think I'm a little guy that's fine.
I'm not here to live up to anyones expectations, because frankly Idgaf about shit like that. If I had time to sit down and immerse myself into a drawing or painting, I would. But I don't. I work full time. I go to school. I go to the gym 4-5 times a week for 3 hours. I try to have a social life.
So photoshop, illy w/e that's just getting my fix of art that I can't have due to time restrictions.
I considered you to be in between...
Sorry if you thought I was pointing any of that at you.
If you tried a serious collab, I think you would feel differently, but I can't make you.
