So i downloaded it right? but for some reason when ever i add a mod to the minecraft.jar file i get the black screen of death... it works perfectly fine otherwise..(yes i have fucking deleted the meta-inf)

Guys, i found you cant mod this particular one. if you want to be able to add mods to MC then you have to go google v1.3 and download from elsewhere.

idk, i tried redownloading multiple times and with all sorts of mods the planes one was the main. then once i downloaded from somewhere else it all worked. so idk must of just been something wrong with my computer or i was making some super nubby mistake while trying to mod or something.

I am pretty sure this is the initial 1.3 release. The newest version is 1.3_01 and it only had a few updates iirc. Use the updater that has been posted her a million and a half times to update to the newest version without having to download a bunch of stuff.
