This problem typically occurs when something is conflicting with a component of Crossfire or Xtrap.
1. The most likely reason for any "Failing to load" problem is that you simply did not run the game as Administrator. If you do not know how to do this please read here;
How to use User Account Control (UAC) in Windows Vista
2. A common program such as Xfire, MSN, Or Skype is interfering with the normal loading process, You may want to disable or shut down any unnecessary programs when starting and running Crossfire. You can do this manually or with a program such as SmartClose;
SmartClose download and reviews from SnapFiles
3. The most common and irritating of problems ; When our Anti-Virus Programs and Firewalls become a part of the problem, not the solution. Your Anti-Virus Program may be scanning crossfire or denying it access to run on your computer entirely. You can solve this problem by adding Crossfire to your Anti-Virus Program's "Exceptions list". You may also need to temporarily disable
any Firewall you have running, Or likewise if possible add Crossfire and all components to the "Exceptions List".
4. You very well may have a virus running rampant on your computer, this could interfere with several processes, Including Crossfire (As Xtrap is sensitive to such things.) You need ot run a thorough and complete virus scan on your computer, making sure to remove all viruses and malware - Restart your computer promptly afterwords. The best free programs to do this with;
AVG
AVG Free | Antivirus Download | Free Virus Protection
MBMA
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware: Malwarebytes
5. Your last option as always, A file may be corrupted in you Crossfire Directory, You may need to perform a complete and clean full re-installation (Do not re-install from the setup, You must do a
full re-install.) Follow this tutorial here;

Note: if you were using a program such as an Xtrap Bypass you need to delete this file from your computer first off - as it is known to corrupt files in Crossfire.
