Trouble to Connect to friends Server

When i try to connect to my friends server i get the error

Failed to connect to the server

Connection timed out: Connect


Any solutions?

1. Ask if anyone else (your friend not included) can connect to the server.
2. If no, then he/she hasn't forwarded their ports correctly.
3. If yes, see if you can connect to other servers.
4. Check your firewall settings and let Minecraft through your firewall.

We both paid for it
about 4 other people play on the server

It still doesnt work when i have my firewalla and AV off

Hm, the only other option is to try changing your IP. That could help.

Which server software is your friend using?

Hmmmm I got it working earlier but i restarted my PC and i get the error again

A time out normally means it is taking you to long to connect to his server, or something is interrupting the connection. Either your friend lives way to far away, or his server (or your connection) is set up wrong.
