I know, fuck natural disasters, but Japan built ALL of their buildings and such to prepare for an earthquake, yet buildings still fell, and BOTH backup systems for the reacters failed.
Im not saying no buildings will fall if theirs an earthquake, but they should prepare and get more advances designes to prepare for this kind of thing better.

Donating as a whole would include cancer donations as well you moron.

First off I'm pretty sure over time if you combine all the donations to cancer, it would amount to more than what Americans have given to foreign countries.

Second most Americans would agree that giving to the immediate is more worthwhile than giving to cancer research/treatment. Would you rather have your 5 dollars go towards helping a Japanese person or any other person get back on their feet and fed or have that same five dollars go towards experimental cancer research? I don't know about you but I'd go for the former.
