SOME may fear four planets falling into line on Friday the 13th could herald the end of days.
However, a Queensland astrologer is assured the apocalypse is not upon us – rather it’s a good day for asking others out on a date.

Jupiter is lining up with Venus, Mercury and Mars early this morning, Friday the 13th of May, in a celestial dance that was visible across Australia's eastern skies from 5am, just before sunrise.

The alignment of the four planets happens only once every 50-100 years, and very rarely on Friday the 13th.

The last time these planets were observed together was in October 1910.

Cairns astrologer Johnny Fernandez said those concerned about the world ending need not fear, as the planets involved would be beneficial to any modern-day lovers.

“If you have been trying to ask someone out, the foundations have been laid down for you.''

Mr Fernandez warned, however, of over-indulging on the universe’s good vibes.

The four planets will be visible just above the horizon in the east.

Early risers have already noticed Jupiter and Venus in the eastern sky before sunrise.

James Cook University Centre for Astronomy director Dr Andrew Walsh said the alignment would be visible each morning at least for a week.
