When I open the .dds file in PS it says the file opens and I can see it in my layers box but nothing comes up and my mouse disappears over the editing portion of my screen.

I cannot for the life of me figure out what is happening.



EDIT: Ok so after dragging the window I get my proper background for editing but the img still isn't showing up, still as lost as ever. Thank you for your patience.

Open the modded file in a Hex editor for Step 1.

Okey, to make it easy for you.

When you save it with MIP's or witout MIP's:

It dosen't mather......
Just the orginal and the modded file are the same size.

The dds and the iwi file are the same size after saved.


Mostly like you gone use Generate MPI's every time

When I attempt to save it for web devices, it's blacked out, so I cant press it. Do I SAVE FOR WEB AND DEVICES?

im not sure what im doing wrong, i have the right iwi for the desert camo. i convert it to dds and open it in photoshop x32. i have an image i made and i drag the new one over the old one and delete the background. i save the dds as dx-t5 with mipmaps (ive tried dx-t1 with and without mipmaps as well) and the file size is the same. then i convert back to iwi and delete the last 4 bytes with hex editor. then i run the crcfixer with both locations and replace the file back in the mw2 main, and when i start the game it freezes and crashes to desktop at the main menu. can anyone offer some advice would be most appreciated.~smish

The crc tool corrupts my file; I convert it back to dds, and view it and it is checkered turquoise instead of my color I replaced it with.
