Are you sure that you are running in the new client? Does it has a text "PRE-RELEASE DEMO" at the left top?

Delete the file "config_mp" on the folder players..

I got it to work. I had done the updates and all that and it simply wouldn't open. I went and did the update again and I've got the console working now.

I must have just missed something the first try.
