I studied a whole bunch of tutorials yesterday and a bit the day before. I ended up making tthis. What can I improve on?

Few to many effects going on, its looking a bit messy.
You more or less lost the render in amongst those C4D renders.
Try not to use that forced lighting (white brush in the top corner), try to look at the render and light according to where it is lit.
Colouration could be better too, if you're using an anime type render its usually best to go for quite bold colours, rather than the washed out ones you've used here.

The C4Ds you used look like a mess and are very distracting. I would go for a cleaner look especially when working with anime renders.
