GFX Team Hopeful Finalists [Project info thread]

I didn't apply for the GFX Team in any way, but I thought I could give it a try
Due to not being a finalist, it's been moved to this thread, thanks Dave.

Decided to come up with a rather basic but modern-looking design. Created them for the most common events aswell, (if you'd rather have an icon for the regular banner too let me know, but all I could find were ones similar to this one)
I do have the .psd so the colours can be modified, or all set to the (basic) blue if preferred.

Its pretty good, but its sooo basic.

So far we've got text with gradient. and more text with gradient, 80% of it, has been done b4, doesnt fit the site at all. idk... I knew i was doing this to wash away the rippers,fakers, or just plain ol sucky GFX people, but i expected better from a few of them...

Try to use the letters in a way to aid the piece, not just plant them there. you know?

Also Ryguy's is one of the better ones so far. But yeah honestly, im surprised with the slightly lacking amount of better entries. No offense to the people who entered so far, but they all just involve text and thats it. D:

Well like i said before Ravallo's is really simple, but in terms of the rest of them, his is probably the better one.

My analysis so far:

Ravallo's is good, but there ain't no special something to make it above and beyond a standard logo.

David's is actually pretty good. It would be a perfect logo for a candy shop!

Dado, that's, Greeny, Mauled, locke, and gangster - Shape up or ship out.

Sazzad - not bad, but just like david's it doesn't fit mpgh too well. And that slogan is crap.

Ryguy and faux - Come on guys, everyone expects better from you two!

And Liz - Eventually you're gonna have such a big pic of yourself as your avvy imma hafta scroll to the right to see your posts

A few concepts were cool.. some we can build off of, but nothing that really jumps out and say's "hai I'm MPGH".
