Vault of hfs files and contents

Well, i thought it would be a pretty good idea to create a list of the current 1110 hfs files and whats in them. And if people would share, it would drastically speed up the hacking of vindictus for everyone. So basically, i will make a big list with groups of categories. Also, about the hfs files, i will list them if they're even remotely connected to the subject, so under say evie's inner armor i might put something like a big file of random stuff that has only like 4 "npc" files. So as long its connected, even one word, will be put on.

Also, if you want to find just one file, well I geuss i'll say this: we've narrowed the stuff down to this, and unless the category isnt there, plz dont be lazy and find out for your self.

I just want everyone to know about this to save a lot of time.

I was asked to do a little inner armor modding for a friend of mine so i will start with that category.

... i dont think ull be able to mod HFS files... unless people has finally find a way to get pass the patch.
Edit: didnt notice that you can get id # here to use it in a command, Pie has shown me the way~.

Well, i hope it helps, and i think i know why VZipFlip doesn't work anymore:

I did a test, by taking a random hfs file and decoding it using VZipFlip.
Then i encrypted it again back into a hfs and the difference:

Size.

Before it was about 300.000 bytes or something
now it is about 279.000 bytes.

So when you decode and reencrypt it changes the size, which is not good.
This might by why the hackshield is working.

You don't need to replace the hfs files to replace what's inside them.


I just use ZipScan to search them for the files I need.

You can also use winrar's GUI.
There are MANY methods to do things like that, also, on the note of the size, that's an EASY fix.
Just change the compression level and amount of memory the compression program's using (winrar's really good for that, as well as others such as kgb)
You just have to tinker and play, then you'll find your answers. Remember, if the internet can be created by two guys with an idea about sending packets further than inside their house, we can do ANYTHING!!!

Not sure if this is relevant but this is exactly what Nexon's other games are doing according to fansites of other games.

Those of us using D&F Extractor seemed to have overlooked something vital! Assuming, you have the translated program, take a look at Edit > Fill to the specific file size... . This is our answer for changing most of the player character voices to Korean.

Notice how the Korean NPKs have smaller file sizes in every case except for female Gunner (I can make a "fix" for this too, but it's going to be a while before I do) Using "Fill to the specific file size..." we can make the KR NPKs just as big as the NA ones. With that done, the game doesn't notice any difference and you get those great KR voices back.

For your convenience, I have uploaded these size adjusted KR voices. It's a 7Z file, so you may need 7-Zip to extract the files. I suggest you download it to your SoundPacks folder and just extract all of the NPKs right there. "Instructions.txt" doesn't have much to say; it just tells you to overwrite the existing NPKs with the ones this download provides.

I did not check to see if the Japanese female Gunner NPK is smaller than the NA one. If so, you can use the method I described. I do intend to get the KR one working somehow at some point. I do have a female Launcher after all.

Btw, it seems that the "sounds_hookup.npk" provided by DFO has Korean voices now. I have the English one, so I'll be switching it back the same way. It's a bit more important for me since I have something fancy with audio.xml going on that uses male announcer in PvP instead of the female one.

I think I just discovered a way to swap soundpacks with little to no effort. Copy over the soundfile you want into the directory except add a 2 to the end of it.

Example, take the korean female gunners pack and rename it from sounds_char_gunner_f.npk to sounds_char_gunner_f2.npk

For some reason this is working for me and it reads this file before the other. Found this out purely on accident and yea it's working for me.
