Unlike everyone else I am not going to point out the obvious of the fact that you used brushes and a render with text but rather that you could of done a bit of blending with the brushes and the render and maybe a little lighting.

There's no way to incorporate those. Blending...maybe, but it'll be stupid looking with vector brushes.
Lighting needs a light source. Light source needs an environment. Environment needs an atmosphere. Atmosphere needs depth. Depth needs blending. If you can barely even pull blending off, well...
