[Help me] Pro/Con of Having a Late Start in High schools

The tittle says it all list few reasons that a late start on daily basis is good or bad.

Please make sure when you post write whats good and bad so I can know what you are concern about for the other side.

To clear out everything when I say late start I mean instead of 7:30 am you have to go to school at 8:45

For example:

Pro:
Good night sleep = Active kids at school

Con: Late start, Late End = Get dark fast in winter and shit happens especially here in seattle

Pro: More good testing scores or passing students

Con: Parent who drop off there kids can't because they gotta go to work

everday you get to sleep. thats a pro. a con would be your day runs later so less time on mpgh.

I am assuming you mean late start as in the opposite of minimum/early release days, as in you get to school at like 12 instead of 7, since that is what my school has, although I am taking early releases on a daily basis instead.

Pros:
-you get more sleep or can stay up all night

Cons:
-You waste more time sleeping as you will likely end up just sleeping more
-Looks bad on your college resume

Pros and cons of early release:
-More time to have fun on a daily basis

Cons:
-Looks bad on your college resume
