A little about me, and the stem for this poem.
I've been writing poetry for over 20 years now, and have found it as a means to express myself freely without limitations. It's for that reason that there is a very deep message in this poem. Stemming from experience in the American Army, Being raised as a "child of the state" having been to mental institutions, homeless and more.
Now, with a child on the way I'm becoming more and more of a "father" in my own mind, and realizing that there are more thing to protect my child from than I had to protect myself from as a kid, and that is the reason that I want them to live their lives to the fullest.
My life experiences are what make me who I am, and give me the thought patterns that I have, and it's for those experiences I'm grateful, and that Is EXACTLY why I don't just Live until I die. I live my life to the fullest, every minute of every day, and do Everything in my power to enjoy my day. I hope that after reading this it will convince you to do the same
Blessings to you all,
Dracconus
Live until we Die
It's a rough life that we live,
When we've got no love to give.
No love for man, woman or child,
Surely that's not worth the while
Why must you just live until you die.
Can words truly express,
ALL the feelings of happiness?
Or is it just a lie?
Will we ever truly know,
or just guess until we go?
Do we just live until we die?
Can we let our children grow,
and be the ones that know,
Through all the hurt and pain,
There's nothing lost, and nothing gained,
Or do we just live until we die?
We're all just dying in this hell,
is there anything that's true?
Can we digress, and never tell,
Or will the truth shine through.
Or do we just live until we die.
Can we pass peacefully along,
Singing happy, joyous songs.
Or will we die from nuclear bombs?
Are we just living till we die?
Must all the pain that we embrace
Overcome us everyplace.
Can we fight this fight no more,
and be happy if not just for
the children that we teach
To Live until we die.
