MP3 Program

I want to make a jukebox out of my laptop, since it has so many problems like it overheats and shuts down in 3 mins with an external fan, its slow as F**k and a bunch of other stuff, the only thing its good for is for music.

Instead of having a complete operating system on my laptop/jukebox, is there a music only operating system like the iPod,so I can put it on the laptop, or is it possible to program one?
