[Discuss] Crash to Desktop

Now i know there's a new "Crash to Desktop" hack out (spams a character a bunch of times until an overflow occurs or something like that)
And i know about SendToServer
but is there any such ReceiveFromServer that might be able to filter out that character, evading the exploit?

hmm, wouldn't surprise me...we do the same kinda hack on a game called Nitto legends, we put a special ASCII Character on the license plate of the car (ƒ) and it overloads the system and deletes the plate from your car

although for CA, i wouldn't be sure, wouldn't surprise me tho...anti-crasher would be sweet

only prob with that is the server is the thing crashed.... so only if you could regulate what got sent to the server could you stop crasher.

filtering the messages won't help much.
By doing this, you may disable crucial parts of the game.
E.g Kill Detection

Nope. This has been done already for a certain vip site. Other people using the same vip are immune to crash to desktop.

the whole point of filtering certain messages is to prevent other crucial messages from being filtered =/
the crash to desktop glitch has a specific character that can be filtered...it is a chat message with some sort of symbol (looks like Chinese) that's spammed over and over, if that chat message is filtered, i believe you won't crash to desktop, but in order to get it to work you'd need to hook the ReceiveFromServer command (if there is one)

Yes you can.
Thats how "anti-crash" is made.
