A question to all the divers/ spearfisher men on the site (if there are any...)

i have a 90cm speargun and im going on a 1 day dive trip on jan 4th, im wondering will a 90cm speargun kill a kingfish (its got different names around the world so i will add a photo)

ive talked to a few other divers and 1 said that it will and the other said it wouldnt...


asking anybody thats had experiance

How close can you get to it without it swimming away? I've been spearfishing (I lived on an island where it was common to catch fish and it that for dinner 4 nights a week) but I've never caught a kingfish.
