I have OCD checkers and OCD counters. Like you i have to do everything in a number of 5. Before i go to bed i turn my alarm clock on and off like 10 times and i check where everything is for the next day, when i close a door behind me i have to recheck if its closed when i know it is, whenever i get my debit card back from a shop i have to keep checking its in my wallet. Etc.

Have you seen a psychiatrist? Are you diagnosed and/or on medication for OCD?

I used to have an OCD therapist but I stopped going a little before Christmas.

I wipe the toilet seat with toilet paper before I sit on it. Even if it's my toilet and I was the last one to use it. I also have to line up my mouse pad with the edge of my desk. They're the only OCDish things I do.

But that's just hygiene. I do it too.

i dont think any1 here would go for it but your you i would switch to an operating system that LOOKS clean so to try and trick your OCD in some way
it does seem like its harder to be disorganized on a computer than it is in real life
irl my house and room are a fucking mess 24/7
on the computer i obsess over the smallest detail constantly downloading and uninstalling programs that i don't need
only to come back later and redownload it because i like the aesthetic aspect and then the cycle reconutines between the pull of aesthetically pleasing and practicality.

I have an OCD of starting over. On pretty much everything. Especially with the internet and numbers is mainly what causes it. I have like more than 500 Gmail accounts because an email doesn't have a right date or time; I reformat my PC almost daily because I installed or downloaded something I don't want. I have like probably 25ish CF accounts, 7 MSN accounts, 6 Facebook accounts, ect. Everything has to come on a 5. 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, ect. Volume on my TV, settings, email date/times, friends on Facebook, ect.

I don't know why I do these things.

Wrong, you do not have OCD. OCD involves frequent handwashing, anxiety attacks, or fear. The OCD most people are familiar with is OCPD, or Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder, which fits your case
