They weren't disappointed with SC2 despite lack of essential features like LAN. The experience alone was enough to restore the SC franchise to its Glory Days. D3 has the same experience and then some. The gameplay is more fluid than D2, more stylistic, and more enticing. Whilst I only played a small portion of it through a proxy, it was enough to let me know that it was in safe hands. Plus there's a Blizzard maintained auction house, no more need for third party auction forums

My only concern is how Blizzard will expand upon it. I hope that Activision doesn't start making Blizzard whore out DLCs.

SC2 is basically a slightly upgraded version of SC1. Broodwar > SC2
