NO u replace the minecraft.jar with the downloaded one DONT PUT THE FILES IN UR .jar!!

Put the minecraft.jar in your bin folder (to get here, type in run, type in %appdata%, go to .minecraft, go to .bin and place the minecraft.jar.

You don't open minecraft.jar, you open minecraft.exe.

Do you have minecraft.exe?
