Private Server

was thinking bout this the other night....but wouldnt it be pretty easy to host a private server for this game? since weve already got most of the files for it

yea its possible. we basically have everything...just gotta unpack the .swf into different files. make a .bat that runs the server and make a client.

I don't think it'd be that simple. RoTmg's server side is not a ".bat" that they just run. First there's tons of events thta are managed by the server. You'd need to handle that. Then you have oryx, and map resets. Then the multiple instances (which again have instances inside them (portals)). You'd also have to handle the nexus gold part and the save account. Adding to that you need the vaults.

HAHAHA, funny guy. What you aren't getting, is that you haven't PROGRAMMED a fucking server. You've run one, I've done it too, and maplestory. It isn't that hard to follow a guide like that. It is hard to write that guide and write the server, which is much different than running a server someone else made.

It wouldn't be that hard to start a private server, if you have all the files necessary.

i have no idea how to do it, or even get close to doing it, but it would be quite nice though

1. It doesnt have a .bat or anything
2. Imagine how many monsters and worlds and stuff would your computer need to handle, basically you would need a supercomputer for that.
3. All we have is the .swf for the client
4. And with such noobs playing it now it would be reported in 2 secs and you would probably be in legal issues.

It would be possible one way:
If you would start a new game from 0 and try to imitate rotmg.
