They probably wouldn't have done this if AlterOP, AlterMW3, and AlterIW didn't allow players to play without having to actually purchase the game.

I remember another full game overhaul called Project Reality and that when it came out the amount of BF2 sales spiked because that required a legit version of the game...

If it wasn't for allowing pirated copies on we MAY not be in the position, but you know activision, they aren't happy if the PC consumer is happy, look at COD4 vs MW3, no exp on dedicated servers now, no FOV option without external programs (which rumor has it they're getting ready to ban for idk if this is true or not someone confirm), no controller support outside of black ops .. what i like my 360 pad, and the nail in the coffin, no STG 44 , not really, no mod support as of yet or probably ever

So they can't just have a "disgruntled" team member "leak" the source of the aIW master server and client source? That way Activision won't be able to shut them all down.

If you don't know, you can still play aIW. But M1 version (like original), M2 version isn't working. Just saying.
