Umm... So since american land was attacked then it was a war? so how does that work then? Does that mean the Vietnam war was only a war for vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos? And not for any of the other countries fighting in it? Seeing as how those were the three main countries it was fought in? I'm not saying that at war we get attacked, but our allies do. South Vietnam was an ally of USA when the North invaded it.

Also you do realize that Laos and Cambodia weren't engaged in warfare against the North Vietnamese nor Americans. They were neutral but since the Vietcong used their neutrality and supplied their forces on South Vietnam through those two nations... So we used our B-52s and Exploded on their supply areas, which were heavily populated by innocent civilians.

Technically, it is not classified as a war. As congress did not declare war on vietnam.

But, since many Americans died, and it basically fits the description of a war, its a war.
Those who don't declare it a war are either looking for attention or not wanting to admit that its the only war the US ever lost in.

We never lost the war, as it was never a "War". In my History class, it was never mentioned as such, I was told that it was a conflict, that inflicted huge losses to both sides, mainly the North. The north lost 2.1 M+, while we lost 52K Soldiers.
