I have been trying to fix my Crossfire for approx. 15 hours.
It's being a big pain in my ass. I press "Start" and then run it but the HGW watcher doesn't pop up or the xtrap. I don't know how to fix this problem. I have looked on fourms, send support tickets, called computer geeks and uninstalled it 7 times.
Help me, I'll gift you 10,350ZP. ($10 CDN gocash card)

Try this:

First go to your CF Folder : C:\Program Files\Z8Games\Crossfire
Copy and paste your xTrap folder to your desktop or somewhere else where you'll remember where you put it. (You might need it just in case)
Then delete the xTrap folder from your CF Folder.
Load up Crossfire, it'll redownload the xTrap Folder(Backed it up just in case something goes wrong).

It works for me, other wise temporary disable your antivirus to see if that's the problem. Or/and run administrator mode. (xp/vista/7/8)

PS. what do u mean u hire computer geeks to fix your computer? I never of that group, do you mean geek squad? (or is it some local business you went to?)

The first part ^ is from @Hero, he should take the reward if it worked, not you -.- ...

EDIT: Just found out one way, if you have CCleaner go to : Tools>Startup, try to disable some programs, then go back and try again

-Type:

-Run HGWC.exe as admin
-Run aegis.exe and aegis64.exe as admin
-Run crossfire.exe as admin
-run patcher_cf.exe as admin

Right click Compatiblity Enable Run As admin for all .exe

-Delete LOG files
-Press: CTRL + SHIFT + ESC --> Check that HGWC.exe is running or not, if yes, terminate it...

-Reinstall:
---Net Framework 4
---Visual C++ 2010

I have CommandPrompt and none of those things worked.
Then ran those 4 things as admin nothing happened. VERY CONFUSED.

Than manually delete all thing from your Temp, and prefetch folder.[C:\windows\Prefetchs][IDK the temp folder location]

Instead of running CF_G4Box.exe, try running Patcher_CF.exe

Go into your crossfire folder - C:\Program Files\Z8Games\Crossfire

You'll see patcher_cf.exe in there.
Run it directly...

Also make your crossfire folder an exclusion for your anti virus and firewall...

Did exactly what you said.
The patcher opens for a second, then closes immediately.
I posted a thread in the fourms on z8. Must be some issue and hopefully will be solved by the next patch. You guys won't be able to help. Thanks anyways.

I know this isn't really helping ; Can u format your computer ?
The reason why I said this ; cause it apparently something in windows files/settings
Can you give us more info ie. How and when did it happen? ... Any programs/drivers installed recently? ... Was it working before or you just download/install it right now? ... Have you installed a new fresh client and deleted 'CrossFire' and Crossfire Settings Folders ?
