Simple menu (alternate)

i see there is a lots of complains like (missing file afxres.h) and (i cant select add resource) and a lot more
i decided to show you an alternate way

first i'd like to say thanks to @xmen for reminding me this

lets start

make a new project and grab the source from the original thread

you can also make your own base, but dont forget to include the file with a #include "resource.h"
then install and start XN resource editor (from the attachments)

click Add resource button or select Resource menu -> add resource and pick XP Manifest



click the same button again just to add a dialog



edit the dialog like you want , in this example, i will edit it like the previous thread, so i set
caption to giniyat101 and minimize box to true



next, add the controls, you will not be able to change the ID now, so we are going to do it later
here is the finished dialog



save it to your project folder, you can pick any name for it

then in your project, right click the resource filer in solution explorer, and select add existing item and select your new .RES file created
in XN resource editor





next, add new .h file under header files filter and select resource.h as its name



check XN resource editor back for the dialog box id and add its definition to resource.h file



it is 1 in my case so i will add this line

#define IDD_DIALOG1     1

expand the combo box and check the other controls ids



so i will add this stuff:

#define IDC_BTNDO       1
#define IDC_NORELOAD    2
#define IDC_NOCHANGE    3

that was the last step, compile and see what will happen
