All right all the Windows 7 users out there who are having compatibility issues, let me give you a few pointers. Go into your ca folder and find the executable for the game-not the launcher-Right click and go to the compatibility tab. Set it to run in computability mode for either xp sp2 or vista. Now even then you may be having trouble. Before going and installing your favorite edition of xp or vista again, try updating your drivers. If you don't have sound, make sure you have the latest sound drivers. Obviously same goes for human interface devices and keyboard errors.
But the biggest problem of all is that Windows 7 runs in the beta Directx 11. Combat arms is screwed in 11! But you can fix this problem. Download the Directx 9 redistributable.
https://www.microsof*****m/downloads/d...displaylang=en
And extract it to your root directory in a folder called directx. Then
run the dxsetup.exe in the folder. DON'T WORRY this won't can directx 11. It will only make directx 9 available for directx 9 drivers.
This is were the next step comes in. You must roll back the drivers for your video card to a version that is not compatible with directx 10. So you see, directx 10 drivers will run directx 11 just fine. But you want to run directx 9. So if you roll back your driver so as not to support directx10 then it will run in the direcx9 you just installed
HAPPY PWNING

hmmm is windows 7 anygood?
like better than vista?
Of course things like the new toolbar thats docks apps is all opinionated, there are a few things in 7 that are subjective and will increase all users experience.
The biggest is how much lighter the OS is. It runs faster and the new transparency theme(they aren't calling it areo because of the anger it envokes in low end graphics users) is much quicker. Especially for integrated graphics users like me with my IntelGMAX3100. While techies wont celebrate this the average user will- It boots using EFI rather than a BIOS. This means generally faster boot times and increased reliability over a BIOS. However many of your favorite Boot Screen functions will be canned. Just to let ya know- Apple Macs use EFI so most likely we are gonna get the lockdowned boot process for us windows users just like the macs. But no one knows for sure.
One word of warning. 7 is currently having compatibility issues with a ton of games. So if your a hardcore gamer i wouldn't suggest making the switch until the final retail release comes out and we get some Directx 11 patches and video card drivers for our games.
Hope this helped!
Even thought it isn't a very organized guide, I understood it.
Great job.
I was curious about switching to w7, but figured I'd rather not.
Wow, windows trying to become vista. Thats sad.
