@oiendoio I know, It's not the best DESKTOP, but it's a pretty good laptop and I can run alot of games on decent graphics, And I'm fine with it. The processor is a badass in photoshop though
i7 = Quad core w/ hyperthreading making 4 virtual cores for specific programs, in gaming unless your on a graphic level development team it is 100% worthless. 17" laptops are not exactly the loveliest thing to carry around and if your not planning to carry it around a desktop for $1500 is going to outperform the laptop every game every time.

Have you considered building a desktop? Its really easy plus will be a lot cheaper. Emphasis on a lot.

i doubt you ran that 4.8 stable for 7 hours. for me the i7 920 with the asus rampage 2 and a noctua air cooler also did the 4.8, but only for an hour. yes that was a few years ago but its basicly the same architechture.
anyway its not the topic, my point is you don't need that on a normal gamer pc, thats why OP could save on that.
and obviously OP doesn't know anything about computer hardware which makes me assume he will never overclock his CPU. so stop wasting other peoples money please.
otherwise you're right.
ohh and i don't want this thread to become a thread about overclocking, so we should stop arguing about it. theres just no point in it.
just...your stupidity makes me cry inside. something inside me just gets destroyed by you. we were talking about a gamer pc, an i7 clocked at 2.2ghz is definitely wrong here as well as your mobile gpu.
this.
@scheissegak great to know you can insult people online, badass. have a nice life :]

Buy the pc, change the graphics card.
I doubt you should speak, Sandy bridge = 2nd Gen core i3-i5-i7 as in i3-2100, i5-2500k, i7-2600k, and no the architecture is not the same. Sandy Bridge was not Rare to see 5.0Ghz under 80c on AIR it also only multiplies by the multiplier and not the BCLK which is 100Mhz locked for SB. On to the most important part overclocking a core i5 2500k or newer i5/i7 is childs play multiplier @ x40 w/ stock voltage is np for any chip.

It's decent, but get a better GFX card
Actually on many gaming laptops you can replace the gpu. The problem is sourcing a gpu and making sure they don't use a modified gpu such as the asus g53's gtx 560m.

Even to a person with skill this is not an easy task. Secondly new notebooks either have the gpu soldered in or its a proprietary setup, beyond that some cheap wannabe clevo and sager designs can be upgraded @ severe damage risk and highly expensive.TIME REQUIRED: 45 minutes | DIFFICULTY: Hard
Who doesn't want better graphics quality from their notebook PC? You can get there by doing it yourself. But be warned: If the upgrade is possible at all for your laptop, it can be a time-consuming operation that involves disassembling virtually your entire notebook, so don't enter into this process unless you are willing to accept the risk of doing serious harm to your machine. That said, if done properly, this project can give you noticeably higher frame rates in the end.
Now if the thunderbolt port catches on and the MSI Gus hits the market albeit a horribly grotesque monstrosity then and only then will laptops be capable of catching of w/ a huge loss of mobility.
