I run two miles for warm up before I even get into my workout. All I can say is you have to force yourself to run every day, period. No matter how hard it is or how much you don't want to, just get out and run.

IF YOU WANT TO IMPROVE YOUR CARDIO THEN DO THIS
(PREP)
STEP 1: EAT BETTER FOOD
STEP 2: WAKE UP AT A DECENT TIME IN THE MORNING AND EAT A GOOD BREAKFAST
STEP 3: WARM UP, DO A LIGHT JOG ON THE SPOT FOR ABOUT A MINUTE BEFORE RUNNING
EXERSISE
WALK FOR 1 MIN JOG FOR 2
WALK FOR 2 MIN JOG FOR 2
WALK FOR 3 MIN JOG FOR 2
WALK FOR 4 MIN JOG FOR 2
WALK FOR 5 MIN JOG FOR 1
DO THAT DAILY FOR 2 WEEKS
AFTER THAT RUN INSTEAD OF JOG
AFTER 2 WEEKS OF RUNNING DOUBLE THE TIME SPENT RUNNING AND HALF THE TIME SPENT WALKING.
OTHER TIPS:
AFTER YOU RUN A GREAT WAY TO DO CARDIO AND COOL OFF IS TO GO SWIMMING SO IF YOU HAVE ACCESS TO A POOL USE IT
DRINK CHOCOLATE MILK AFTER WORK OUTS IT HELPS REVITALIZE YOU
IF YOU WAKE UP THE NEXT DAY AND YOUR LEGS ARE SORE THIS IS BECAUSE YOUR BODY IS NOT USED TO LACTIC ACID BUILD UP IN YOUR MUSCLES FROM EXERCISE THIS WILL PROBABLY HAPPEN. STRETCH IT OUT AND PUSH YOURSELF THROUGH IT. AFTER 2-4 WEEKS THE FEELING SHOULD GO AWAY.
AND MOST IMPORTANT ENOUGH. IF YOU DO NOT FEEL THE BURN YOU'RE NOT TRYING HARD ENOUGH.

If you don't want to run because it puts too much stress on your legs or for whatever reason you can swim, or if you are rich you can row. Rowing and swimming will get you a lot more ripped that just running.

ive been playing games and smoke weed since 3 years and i can run atleast 5 mins (30 mins if a cops run after me) try doing push up and set up first then start doing some cardio.
Ride a bike , the best way to do it is asking friends to join u(More fun..). And then ride atleast 10miles a day(Atleast im riding 10...)
You're all not taking into account that he's really out of shape. my guide is a starter guide to people who are just getting into shape after being inactive for a very long time
For me the answer was the bike too... I stay so much in home and when i go out i realised i cant run... Then i just go for a time with my bike in a park for 2-3 weeks and it brought me back into shapea
so 30min each day.

but I don't want to bike since I'm running laps, not actually going to a place.
and also Short Burst running or Continuous Jogging?

The first step is always the hardest.
I hit the gym 3 times a week. Also on the off days I do 45 min HIT cardio right after I wake up.
But you can workout 10 times a week, if your nutrition is not good you will not see results.
