thats what i did to get the response above believe it or not!
Mostly like people would go back to the store as fast as possible and tell them about it.
Also, you are able to clame your game back if you have the CD-Key. (After what I read)
So you should be able to "force" them to give you the game back, since you have the original key.
(And yes, I'm talking about the steam, not the store :P)
well steams last email said 'sorry, we cannot help you further' they havent helped me at all!! this has put me off pc gaming altogether!!!
yes there is, but steam says its registered to another account and thats that!

That is why you should add the image of your receipt and of you CD + CD-Key. (Or where ever the product ID/Key is located at)
And I can confirm that this work. Because one of my friends did this and it worked.
Just have have to prove that you actually bought it.
And now you are way to late to go back to the store.
If you did...
Show them the mail from Steam, take the receipt + the game with you. And you would mostly like get a new one.
Since you have valid prove of that you bought it, and it was 'taken' already.
I would recommend you to just forget this now.
I don't know how the riles are in your country, so I can't say much about it.
