    Need your opinion

I'm planning to buy a HDD, and I'm looking for your opinion

    ST2000DM001
    2TB Seagate 3.5" 7200rpm 64MB SATAIII

    My questions:
-Can seagate be trusted? RN I have a Western Digital HDD, but in my country, every western digital drive is either expensive, or still a sata2
    -Will Sata3 make a difference?
-7200RPM or 5400RPM?-isn't the 7200 one too loud?
-and lastly if anyone owns this specific disc, or a seagate HDD, please short review it

    thanks

All my HDDS are Seagate, I got 3.

I got one 1 TB 7200 RPM, 1 500 GB 5400 RPM and an external that I don't really know the specs for.

I've had no trouble with them being noisy at all, but I have some expensive sound isolated case so...

Sata3 will make a difference in transferring a lot of data between HDDs if both HDDs has it, but it doesn't matter for much else, since only very few other connections are fast enough to use Sata3's full potential. I didn't feel any general performance change when I moved my OS to a better HDD. Maybe defraging and scanning for virus was a little faster but...

It's very hard to review a HDD; I have had no problems with either of mine so far, I've had one of them for almost 4 years. The other one is a couple of months old.

Alright, thank you for sharing. I will use this drive to install my programs on, and to record fraps files. I'm still looking for comments, but thanks.

I have Western digital black. 80gb 5400rpm. Never bought a hard drive when building my computer. Now I have to wait for prices to go back down.

The speed is worth it. I have one as my OS drive and it is so fucking quick on startup. only takes about 15 secs.

Ravi got one about a week ago. Makes me jelly.
Once I upgrade my graphics card, I think I'm going to jump on an SSD. Slickdeals has a 256GB Crucial M4 for $169.
