Sounds like standard procedure for any software that can be bought. I don't know of any software digital or physical where you actually own the software. You merely have a licence to use a single copy of it (or more depending on which licence you opted for). It would be financial suicide for companies to actually sell you software. If you actually owned the software than you have every right to reproduce or even just repackage that software and distribute it without royalties as the thing that you are distributing is merely a copy of YOUR property.
