obviously you are a beginner because you didn't even scratch the surface for an explanation. functionality wise any non void type function is a function that will return a value where as a void typed function would be considered more of a procedure because you are not returning a value and are mearily running code, whether or not you pass a reference it all boils down to execution. secondly a void pointer can not be dereferenced into a value where as an int can, so technically nemo is not wrong. do you even understand how booleans work in memory? which of the bits are used in a boolean? which ones arent? how many bits are there? do you know how to toggle bits? set them? clear them? do you understand virtual memory? do you know the difference between LPVOID and PVOID? etc... don't be all high and mighty, you barely know anymore than nemo does.
