Am watching at the moment Ktv, Magi~ , Code:breaker hope this one is good too =)!
Ryōta Sakamoto is an unemployed 22-year-old who lives with his mother. In the real world, there may be nothing really special about him, but online, he's one of the world's top players of the combat game called Btooom!.
One day, he awakes in what appears to be a tropical island, though he has no memory of how or why he has come to be there. While wandering around, Ryōta sees someone and calls out for help. The stranger responds by throwing a bomb at him! Now Ryōta realizes both that his life is in danger and that he has somehow been trapped in a real-life version of his favorite game! Will Ryōta be able to survive long enough to figure out how and why he ended up here?
An episode is aired every Thursday, from what I can tell. There is some nudity, but so far all I've seen is tits at the end of Episode 1. Hopefully I can get some more people watching it, the show seems kind of generic and cliche at first, but for me it wore off after Episode 1.
Episode 1: Btooom! Episode 1 English Sub
Episode 2: Btooom! Episode 2 English Sub
Episode 3: Btooom! Episode 3 English Sub
Episode 4: Btooom! Episode 4 English Sub
Episode 5: Airing November 1st, 2012

Gonna watch this soon :>
Its actually pretty good.
I think its a like a cross between Lost and Sword Art.
You guys should read the manga
It's pretty good as well.
I'm going to start this now, sounds pretty decent.
This versus Mirai Nikki- which of the two do you think is a better 'survival' anime?
I read it when the first chapter was released. Definitely worth a watch.

:/ it all depends on the series. Its usually one or the other though, very rarely are both sources good.(such as the naruto manga vs the anime, or most shonen for that matter).
Manga in my opinion has a lot easier time with explanations, story, and character dev. without being boring. I can read manga much faster than I can watch anime so when explanations come up its not some boring snore fest of an explanation like it is in the anime. Anime can(if the budget is big enough) outdo most manga in action, however it is worth noting that most anime do not top the manga in art.
There are some very rare cases where the talking is actually more enjoyable in anime than the manga/vn counterpart(the monogatari series for example.).
-------------------
All in all Btoom! is about even with its manga counterpart, if only because the story and art are so limited in the manga.
IMO i'd say anime purely because of the fact it's more entertaining in fights.
Like you said, manga gives more easier explanation and more detail of whats happening. But since it may be a more action like anime, imo, anime would be better for this case. Manga is quicker aswell where as anime is longer.
