Go to Crunchyroll.com if you want to watch the latest anime simulcasts.
For free users you can only watch in 360p but if you pay $6 for premium you get 720p, 1080p etc. It's a good site because all the new anime are released there before anywhere else.

The only currently airing Anime i'm watching at the moment is Blast of Tempest.
I'm not into any of that One Piece/Fairy Tail stuff.

Uhmm, Anime recommendations?

Personally i liked Death Note a lot if you have not seen it, Btoom! is a newer anime that i liked and it just finished airing (Season 1). But both are a bit mature.
If you're into all that touchy feely high school stuff then watch CLANNAD.
From what i've heard Full Metal Alchemist is quite good and Monster's been recommended a lot.

My favorite anime of all time is Code Geass though, i don't think anything is going to top that for a while.

Ecchi/Harem: Kiss X Sis, Omamori Himari, Sekirei, Rosario + Vampire, Maken-Ki, Kanokon, Highschool DxD
Comedy: Beezlebub, Soul Eater, Seto no Hayayome, Golden Boy,
Random: Death Note, Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni (Extrememly violent), Lucky Star.

These are ones I've watched off the top of my head.

Currently watching Ergo Proxy again, and its imo the best anime I've ever seen. Very much on the mature side though. The themes are pretty dark.

Death Note gets a lot of recommendations, and its pretty good, at least the first season was. Second season was dumb. Havn't seen any reccomendations for Ghost in the Shell though. Another very well done series.

You should also check out Blood+ and the Devil May Cry series.
