If you ever even took regular Computer Programming you should have been introduced to programming. How are you going to go into AP if you haven't taken the regular class first?

i was in regular then the next year AP, ap is the same exact class as regular except the teacher just doesnt care what u do since u know everything and u focus more on creating ure own shit then on what shes doing

Yeah. Usually you start regular->AP.

We have only 2 "computer" related classes. Web page design,a nd computer programming. Computer Programming goes to AP Computer Programming after one semester. 1 semester (CP) -> 2nd semester (AP CP). Though, I don't take CP because the teacher is fucking retarded along with my school. CP / AP CP has not done ANY programming whatsoever. I'm taking web page design even though I know everything in there; but we at least do shit. In CP they're doing Photoshop/Flash projects right now. Not actionscript, just Flash. They haven't done any programming; the only "programming" they did was a small javascript project, but it was just a copy and paste page.

Eh, in Web Design we do all that as well. I'm still taking it now, though I plan to take Warren Tech (a high school where you go and you can earn college credits) for either Computer Science (learn more programming) or Cybersecurity "hacking for good" as the promoter said. Today, CP and AP CP had to make their transparent heads roll like a ball in Flash.

teaches you the basics, Strings, ints, booleans, while loops, for loops, etc.
basically introduces you to coding and all you do in the class is write code with the teacher to learn to script

So apparently my high school is starting AP Computer Science next fall so if anyone has taken it, what should I expect? I know it has to do with introducing programming, so i'm probably going to take the class.

Last year I took a semester of Fundamentals of Programming which did absolutely nothing except make my eyes bleed "teaching" (helping you weed out the absolute morons in your first year of school so you don't have to talk to them ever again, the dirty peasants) using Alice.
I hate Alice.

This year we continued Karel, and I nearly cried tears of joy when we finally moved beyond that stupid coding with a graphical interface crap.

Having a unit on Recursion atm.
