Most people use someone's base, as long as you added on and modified everything, I think it's fine; plus credits are always needed.
I use bases, I'm not a pro coder
Be honest
do you use your own , self coded from scratch base ?
i am just interested in how many people use a base coded by another
please be honest, it is not a shame of using anothers base
it is just .. not - the real thing i think
Thought you were dead...
On Topic: I use my own. Some functions are from other useful sources.
100% mine except a D3D Mesh idea saltine gave me :3
I use a influenced menu base for all games (it's originally based on another base but is so heavily modified by niow that I kinda regard it as my own). Not detours/hook however, I'm currently trying to learn that concept better.
I think it's very hard to define when a base is your own. Would my base be more of my own if I wrote it from scratch? Perhaps but then again I would probably use a lot of knowledge for doing so that I have gathered from other people. Take a game like Combat Arms. You got a few people that originally figured out a lot of it (say Gordon for instance). Now, everyone that is into coding for that game has most likely came across code from him, Gellin and others and are using methods they learned from them in one form or another.
They're out ta get me!
Persistence is an art in itself. Let them slam each door in your face, even reject the whole definition of who you are. There will be a day when they come knocking on your door instead.
Doesn't take a "pro coder" to make a base. The logic is incredibly simple. Anyone who knows what they are doing uses their own base.
Oh no! Vortex is gay!
Well I'm a leecher so I use everyone's base put together into mine.
It crashes pls help me
I use my own.

I've been coding my own bases for quite some time now, just coded a new one recently that I've used for my releases that I occasionally make. It's all coded by myself, except the basic D3D features (there are so many out there, why bother coding them from scratch), and friends have lent me interesting code that I have inside it as well. Of course, some of my hack ideas are based off others' code that I've seen, but I edit and change anything I take to make it completely original, just as I would hope people do anywhere when seeing source code that they wish to implement.

Currently coding applications in Java and C++.

Not really, I thought this too for a long time. You don't need advanced detours.
Thanks @ZysorceN for explaining it

i just was interested in asking such a question
sry for my bad english if you mind go fuck yourself (that was to everybody)
