FPS lag

Is there a way to improve FPS for DayZ?

When I join DayZ servers, my FPS just drops to around 15-20. But if I play regular ArmA2 OA, the FPS is constant 60.

Any help with the lag?

Update your drivers. If you're using a laptop, make sure your performance and/or power setting are setting towards highest performance. Start up DayZ and change everything to low and turn off and extra features. Then open your Arma2OA profile (should be located in my documents) and change the scene complexity to 100. Then open ArmA2OA config file (should also be in My Documents) and change what GPU_MaxFramesAhead equals to 1 and what GPU_DetectedFramesAhead equals to 1. I suggest using DayZ Commander. Hit settings, then launch in Windowed mode. Just stretch the screen to fullscreen. It might not look very nice but you'll gain about 15fps from doing this.

Also, make sure you play in 3rd person and then double tap the - button to zoom out. Increases your field of view and stabilizes your FPS so it's not jumping all over the place...
