1- and ur friends da same ISP ?
2-also how much was ur ping with OLD pc ?
Not too long ago I had a Windows 7 PC, and bought a new PC (Windows 8) because my old one was a piece of shit with online gaming, etc. The only thing that seemed to fix with crossfire was the slow loading/joining in late. My ping spikes from 86-110+. I think I only have 45-60 FPS, which isn't the best. I played crossfire on a friends PC sense she plays too, and had 35 ping. We both live in the same area, so why would the ping be THAT different? I've tried many of the suggestions I found on this site, but none seem to work. I use game booster, but it has no effect.I also have my PC set for best performance, with Crossfires settings all on low.
Im not sure. But it was the same as my current ping. I didn't think that Internet provider really had anything to do with it.
slower internet results on higher ping i think.
probably has something wrong with your router, not computer.

I locked my wireless so no one can steal my wifi, but I think my mom took it off -.- I have no idea what the problem could be. It's frustrating.

I have a router, but I have a desktop and a laptop. If I knew how to plug the internet directly into the modem, I would. So confusing. So I believe it's wifi. I don't think my mom got internet with the cable.

i got low ping with this
cFosSpeed -
It's not exactly a hard thing to do. Start by checking if there is a cable between the router and your desktop. If there is one you are obviously using cable, if there isn't one you have to be on wifi. In the latter case just buy a cable and plug it to any of the ports on the router not occupied (usually numbered 1-4 or so), there should already be at least one cable in your router in port namned "wan", don't touch that one and you'll be fine off. Oh and before you buy remember to measure how long you need to reach your desktop.
If you still have a high ping with cable, then proceed with checking out your ISP and what possibilites there are to switch to another one. All this talk about game booster and whatsnot is bs, registry tweaks or whatever they do may give you a few percentages better performance but they can't solve problems that are not located within your pc. Don't waste time on it.

They're out ta get me!
Persistence is an art in itself. Let them slam each door in your face, even reject the whole definition of who you are. There will be a day when they come knocking on your door instead.
