using sig scanning to find addresses

I'm trying to make a logger to find the addresses for xp etc by signature scanning.

This is what I do:

I find the address in CE
I open olly, got to the address -> sig scanner plugin-> test sig and it fails
I make sig + mask manually, use other tools to search for the sig, still fails


can anyone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong:

I think it's just the plugin's scanner that's buggy.

I used both the IDA and olly sig scanner, I also tried making the sigs+masks myself and every single time it fails retrieving the address

When I use the plugin on another random address it does work.

perhaps the byte's aren't unique enough or the sig is too short I honestly don't know
